It is hard / to be good ([info]echo_off) wrote,
Just woke from a dream, most of which I cannot remember. The last part of it is all tbat sticks in my mind:

I see the prow (or whatever that leading part is on the front) of an old sailing ship moving thrugh stormy waters, but rather than a figurehead on it there is instead a woman secured there with heavy ropes. She is tall (or would be, were she standing) and has nearly black hair hanging in salty strings from her lowered head. Though it is dark, there seems to be a silvery sphere of light rotating a few inches from her face that lights the waters a dozen or so feet ahead of the ship.

The ship rises and falls, sending up gouts of foamy water to cover the woman every few seconds, but the light stays. I hear a voice murmuring like a prayer of sorts. Something like "Let me see the flaw without losing the merit. Let me hate without losing reason. Let me harm without losing myself." It seems like a prayer being used to guide the ship.

Strange.

Re: I told you!

I can't even remember what I ate that night, but it wasn't anything spicy. Maybe too much sugar...

Yeah, very weird. I hate when I have these dreams because I keep wanting to see what happens next!

You should use them to write stories. Or better yet.. have someone from your friends list finish it or continue it. ;)

sounds like a scene from a book or a movie!

I wish my dreams were that vivid.

Mmm. They come in flashes usually. That part probably took less than a second to dream, but those things always feel like they're taking ten minutes.

Wow, I wish you remembered the rest! What an amazing-sounding dream.

Me too! Maybe if I put enough of these together I'll be able to string up a story with them.
